Once you become part of our family of clients, you’ll be assigned to your own personal representative. He or she will offer guidance, answer questions, and be your advocate in all insurance matters. So who are we and how did we get here? This is our story:
HTK (Hunt, Traina, Kennard) Insurance Agency, Inc. was formed in 1996 after three well-established insurance agencies merged. Together, we share more than 100 years of experience. The new combined agency includes the former Hunt Agency, a second-generation, family-operated agency established in 1960 by James E. Hunt; the Traina Insurance Agency, founded in 1987 by John Traina; and the Kennard Insurance Agency, a third-generation, family-run firm started in 1932 by Joseph E. Kennard, Sr. HTK is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
AGENCY PARTNERS / OWNERS
W. Richard Hunt
Owner / Partner
Rich joined his father’s Oakhurst, NJ agency in 1974 and took ownership 12 years later in 1986. He moved the office to Long Branch, where he operated for another decade before merging with the Traina Insurance Agency and the Kennard Insurance Agency to form HTK. Rich holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Glenn M. Kennard
Owner / Partner
Glenn’s insurance career began in 1974 when he joined the Joseph E. Kennard Insurance Agency, a landmark company founded in 1932 by his grandfather. Glenn became a third-generation owner/partner, working with his father for the next 22 years out of the agency’s Red Bank, NJ office. In 1996, Glenn merged his agency with the Hunt Insurance Agency and the Traina Insurance Agency, where he continues to provide impeccable service to his clients. Glenn holds the Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) designation.
John Traina
Owner / Partner
After graduating from Pennsylvania Military College with a B.A. in business, John landed his first job as an insurance adjuster with Liberty Mutual and Chubb & Son in New York City. He later became a sales associate at Equitable Life, where he eventually served as district manager and earned his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation. In 1986, John established the Traina Insurance Agency, a New Jersey property and casualty company. Ten years later, he merged with the Kennard Agency and the Hunt Agency to form HTK. John also holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

Kevin Stiesi
Commercial Lines Manager
Kevin began his insurance career in 1981 with Prudential and joined HTK in 2001. He holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Elke Harms
Commercial Lines Account Representative
Elke has been a licensed insurance representative since 1995 and joined HTK in 2005.
Personal Lines
Terry Ramellini
Personal Lines Manager
Terry has been with HTK since 1996. She began her career with the Traina Insurance Agency in 1990. As Personal Lines Manager, she oversees the daily activities of her department, interacts with company marketing representatives, and assists clients with their insurance needs.
Denise I. Grimaldi
Personal Lines Account Representative
Denise owned her own agency in South Amboy for many years prior to joining HTK in 2004. She educates clients on their insurance choices, assists with their applications, and provides ongoing customer service.
Patrice McDermott
Personal Lines Account Representative
Patrice joined HTK in 2004 after many years with Mullaney Insurance Associates. She holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.
Donna Cate
Personal Lines Account Representative
Donna joined our staff in 2008, making her the newest member of our team. She has many years’ experience working for another New Jersey insurance agency.

Producer
Jackie started her career with Allstate in 1990 and has been with HTK since 2002. She provides personal lines policies and service to her clients.
Raymond Innella
Producer
Ray has been an insurance-industry veteran for more than 50 years. He started his career with Allstate and eventually established his own agency. He joined Traina Insurance Agency in 1990 and is a valued member of the team.
Life / Health / Financial Services
Thomas M. McGee
Life / Health Specialist
Tom began his career in 1982 as an agent with the John Hancock Companies. Since 2000, he has headed up HTK’s Life and Health Division, providing for group and individual health insurance needs, along with life, disability, annuities and long-term-care planning. Tom holds the LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) designation.
Reception
Carolyn Slade
Receptionist
Carolyn joined HTK in 2000 and oversees all reception and clerical duties. She also assists with customer billing for personal and commercial lines.
